It's really time for an update. I haven't posted for a long time now, but I was not lazy.
The pwToon plugin of DAZ Studio is a great tool too create a good cell shading. For a good result you have to experiment a lot. Some take a lot of rendertime, others are very quick. The first animation, 'The Blond Girl and the Police Girl', took a lot of rendertime, but that is because it used some advanced lighting. I will not explain in it detail, just watch and enjoy. Just click on the youtube animation for a bigger screen and more information.
The second one, 'Imitating Disney', is very impressive for me. Somehow it does remember me of the old Walt Disney animations. It's just a 2d flat render and the rendertime of each frame is very fast, three to five seconds. I only need to import them in Anime Studio Pro to create an impressive animation. The dance moves were done with AniMate 1.5, that you can get at DAZ.
Oh boy, time flies. Oh wel, just a post to let you know that I'm still alive.
At this moment I have not much done with animation. The funny thing is, that I found a way to create a comic that looks almost professional thanks to the many experiments with animation technics. Just a fact, years ago, I needed two weeks to draw and inkt one page. Now I can create a full colour page in two or even in one day! All thanks to 3D software. Maybe I will put them on a deviantart page and post the link :) This blog is not good enough to post them here :(
Just an animation done with DAZ 3D 3.0 with Puppeteer and aniMate. FX done with pwSketch, that you can buy at DAZ 3D. Really usefull tools for animation if you ask me...
I'm trying to find a new cartoon style. Until now I tried to get a Anime style cartoon, but to tell the truth, computer generated is way too different with handdraw style. This is just an experiment...
